The Roaring 20’s This was the age of Jazz. The men were seen in top hats and tails and the ladies in Flapper Dresses which were "tubular," going from the shoulders straight down to the hem. The women also wore cloche hats (deriving its name from the French word for "bell") were essential daytime wear. The hat was typically designed to be worn low on the forehead, with the wearer's eyes only slightly below the brim An important part of the evening gown during the twenties was the beading. The long straps of the backless dresses featured beaded chiffon fabrics.
